Evan200k’s Fantastic EP

Evan200k recently released his EP, “overlooked.” If you don’t know, Evan200k is a producer from Pittsburgh, PA. He’s gotten placements for artists like EST Gee, Stunna 4 Vegas, YSN Flow, and more, but with this EP, he wanted to put the spotlight entirely on himself. You’re forced to profit from other people’s names as a producer. Thus, the focus is more on the vocal artist than the producer. But shouldn’t the producer get more credit because, without the beat, the artist wouldn’t be heard? This is precisely why Evan200k put out this EP under his name. Fortunately for him, this decision is paying off!

“overlooked” has gained close to 4,500 streams on Spotify. For a producer EP, these numbers are pretty notable. But can you blame it? The EP is perfect for many situations, as long as you’re looking to relax. To break the fourth wall for a moment, I’m listening to the EP as I’m typing this out, and it’s making my process much more manageable. The music Evan200k is excellent in the background while you’re doing a task to keep your mind active, but it’s also great in the forefront of your mind when you appreciate his raw talent.

As you throw on “overlooked,” your head begins to bob to the beat without question. Evan200k stuck with guitar melodies in all of his moments, but what was most interesting is how he made two iterations off of the same piece Tracks two and 4, “last weekend” and “next weekend (bonus),” respectively, feature the same guitar melody, but the last track is sped up. Both songs allow the listener to relax, but the previous way feels like rejuvenating the listener and sending them on their day to end the EP.
