With influences spanning from Trap to Electronic to Gospel, Diamond White’s “Summerland” is a vast soundscape with songs for practically any music fan. “Summerland” feels like SZA and Tierra Whack made a collab album over hyperpop, digital trap beats, and slow guitar ballads. I know, a crazy mix. But totally worth it.

Songs like “Remote Control,” “The Kissing Song,” and “CUMDWNCRZY,” offer the floaty, sensual anthems that we’ve come to love from SZA but with vivid pictures of the relationships White fantasizes about. The multi-talented singer makes the sound her own with dynamic production, catchy hooks and plenty of quotables.

Then there are songs like “Bee Sting Interlude,” and “Digitally Yours” that have some of the most vibrant, digital sounding r&b beats I’ve ever heard. The instrumentals teem with personality as White shows off a knack for versatility.

I don’t wanna spoil too much of the album for you so check the rest out for yourself!
